Exhibit Space for the Smithsonian Institution Folk Art Collection
This award winning project was designed by interior designer Marta Canaves. It was created in order to facilitate the renowned traveling exhibit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Folk Art Collection at Florida International University's South Campus, and involved the construction of a temporary installation in an extremely expedited time frame (just 20 days in total). Among the work needed in order to get the project done so the exhibit could be displayed was the demolition of existing partitions, new framing and walls, Pergo wood floors, paint and custom millwork. Despite time constraints, the project was successfully constructed and completed on time for the beautiful exhibit to be displayed.
